I have Windows XP 64-bit installed, and recently after my computer has been on for a while and I want to reboot, the sequence gets stuck on infinite reboot at the motherboard splash screen.
I don't see any BSOD or errors...
The only way to actually complete booting is to turn off the PSU and flush the static voltage (?) and retry.
I think it started to happen when I swapped in an old GTX260. Could it be possible that my power supply is under powered?

I have:
Intel Dual Core
GA-EP45-UD3LR
GTX 260
Optical drive
6 hard drives
Corsair 550W

Solution
Welcome, saukrippl!

This sounds unfortunate, indeed. However, I'd start by reseating all the connections inside your rig and make sure every component is mounted properly. I'd also attempt to boot with only the OS/primary HDD connected to the motherboard. If the issue persists, I'd suggest you reset BIOS and see if that will help you load the system properly. In case that doesn't work, you should check this tutorial from the community and follow the detailed step-by-step instructions there.

Hope it helps. Keep me posted! :)

Thank you for your reply. I followed your suggestion backwards and started with minus 1 HD and it seems to be working. Then i added back the other HD and it also seems to be working.
I will keep testing to see if this was just loose wiring or something else persistant.
Thank you for your help and I will update!

Thank you both for the answers
The computer seems to reboot just fine now. I think it was the sata cable being loose on one of the HDs.
Thanks for the link to benching will save this for future use!
