I've searched through a lot of forums trying to figure out what exactly to do, so I'll go through what I have done and what the issue is.

I've bought a Samsung EVO 750120 GB SSD to install into a HP Envy Beats PC. I've installed it, got it partitioned, has a letter drive, and cloned the image of my HD onto it successfully.

At this point, I went to the BIOS to change the BIOS order, only to find there was no second bootable windows listed, the first drive was listed as bootable windows, but the Samsung SSD was listed as 'USB Hard Drive'. Currently, there is only a USB mouse/keyboard plugged in, and the monitor. But still nothign about a bootable windows.

When I remove the HDD completely, the SSD doesn't boot and it says boot device not found. I cloned using EaseUS Todo. I followed the instructions from http://lifehacker.com/5837543/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-drive-without-reinstalling-windows .

Can anyone help?? Thank you in advance for all of your advice!

Hey there, VIT2016.

This indeed a pretty good tutorial. However, when you are cloning a drive, you don't need to partition, format or assign letter to the destination drive before the cloning process. Try again, perhaps with a different tool or this one again, to see if the same thing happens.
It's normal for you not to be able to boot to Windows by using the SSD if it's recognized as a USB drive, because you can boot to Windows with an external drive. The question here is why is it recognized like that?

I'd suggest that you try resetting or updating your BIOS/UEFI, to see if that fixes things up. You should also check for firmware updates available for your SSD model and install them if any. You could also try the SSD with a...

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Sure thing, mate. :)

Similar issues are not very uncommon with SSDs (both newer and older models). There might be incompatibility issues, so flashing/resetting the BIOS/UEFI is always one of the options. And the other one is to check for an available firmware upgrade for the SSD's model in question. Those firmware updates usually fix bugs and incompatibility issue, so don't forget to check the SSD manufacturer's website from time to time.

Cheers! ;)
