K-series processors will work with motherboards that do not support overclocking. HOWEVER, NOT FOR THE CASE YOU MENTION.

Processors and motherboards have to be socket-compatible - this means that processors have a number of pins that must match the number of pins on the motherboard socket. Additionally, the motherboard has microcode (called the chipset) that supports specific processors.

The last series of processors that is compatible with the H61 chipset is the Ivy Bridge processors - that is one generation before the Haswell processors of which the i5 4670K is a member.

So the best i5 processor you can install on that motherboard is the i5 3570K, or the earlier generation i5 2500K.

Here is a full list of processors that are...

No it will not work the board is LGA1155 socket and the cpu is LGA1150 socket , no match whatsoever.

Here is a list of cpu's for that board ......https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H61ME/HelpDesk_CPU/
If overclocking is not something you wish to try, just buy a non k as why pay more for a feature you won't use
