So, I have a really old motherboard (DG965RY) and i was wondering whether a GTX 750ti would function normally (i know it will bottleneck) if i bought one. I really want to use an hdmi cable and be able to play old games decently. A good friend of mine had a spare quadro 2000 and lent it to me to try it and it worked so i just thought that, theoretically, if a quadro 2000 works then a 750ti has a good chance to work. So am I right and should i buy a 750ti?

Solution
Ok. First off, Where did you find one of those? :p

Secondly, Yes. Will work just fine. Plug it into the top slot though to get the best performance. Other than that yea. No problem :)

In theory, it should work since the quadro needs a pci-e x16 slot as same as the 750 ti and new gpus can work on old motherboards but it will be bottlenecked for sure. Thanks to your friend it should work 100% just plug it in and install the latest drivers.
