(My motherboard is a Asus P8Z77-M).So I am upgrading to a gtx 970 g1 gaming from a gt 640 (I know its terrible). I was just wondering if my motherboard could fit it because my corsair spec 1 is able to fit the size of the card but im just scared the card might be a little to big and hit the other parts on the motherboard because its size. Ps. I have just started to get into pc making so sorry for the noob question.

If there's room in the case, you are good. The board will accept any card that fits the PCie x16 slot. And no, there's nothing on that board that will interfere with the card. It will pass over the top of the components in the way. That is a standard design for boards.
