Hi guys,

I was checking the warranty of my CPU on the intel website and I saw that in the product description, it says, at the end "FC-LGA14C".

What is the meaning of this? The socket which this CPU was supposed to support was the FCLGA1151.

Why "FC-LGA14C"? Are "FCLGA1151" and "FC-LGA14C" the same?

Regards

I meant beside from that .. I thought maybe china characters for the bios ? but then you would think the same for like Japanese as well ??

overall I think your fine grab a chip and let her fly

but yet ?

well it has nothing to do with what you asked so as far as that all looks good

interesting here ??

the ive bridge 1155 chips show as -- FC-LGA12C [also no china chips ]...
Flip-Chip LandGridArray the 14c designates its a 1151 socket

I think the fclga 1151 is used to let you see easy its a 1151 at intel they know fclga14c means in there technical aspect of thing

they also have no info at intel explaining all this and you can see both terms used in the product descriptions

read down on this thread how he thought the same as you ?? [posts just above best answer]

Thanks for your reply junkeymonkey.

My motherboard is an LG 1151. So, as long as my CPU can fit in my motherboard, I am happy.

In the end, the meaning of FC-LGA14C is completely useless.... if you say that the FC-LGA14C CPU will fit a motherboard with 1151 socket, everything is fine, in that case.

that's how I see it ? now that guy exchanged his chip and all was good but I just think he got the lemon and then got a ''good'' chip ?

seems with skylake them things happen a bit easyer for some reason /

I think it just how intel codes there chips and there the same is listed as FC-LGA14C or FC-LGA 1151 or lga 1151 depends on how the vendor lists things in the specs pre site ?

like I said intel don't have a support page explaining any of this so .....??????

same part number of the chip but listed in specs different [BX80662I56600]

''I5-6600 FC-LGA14C ''
http://www.amazon.com/Intel-I5-6600-FC-LGA14C-Processor-BX80662I56600/dp/B0136JONRM

''LGA 1151''

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117562

so...????

I do like how theres that one for ''china'' ..hmmmmmmm.....

http://ark.intel.com/products/88188/Intel-Core-i5-6600-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz#@ordering

I wonder if tthese guys like the one I linked above or others with ''issues'' are being slipped the china chips and ....????

no just wondering about that china one and why there shows one for china and one for the rest of the world ?? but all got the same part numbers ??

so why has intel got china chip singled out or listed as for china ?? that's all

I guess theres that chance theres something different with the china chips just for the china market that could ''filter '' in to other markets like black market chips though not counterfeit just maybe get a chip meant just for the china market in the uk or the usa ??

so do the 1150 haswell ?? -- FC-LGA12C

man I guess you have to contact intel and get there 2 cents worth on all that for anything in truth ?

I cant find nothing on it but what I know and showed you no matter where I look it up from ..

as long as its a 1151 board and the chip is listed in your boards supported cpu list I'd guess call it good to go ??

this guys best answer looks as as good as the rest
