hi
I've got an old workstation which i want to put some more RAM into.
Specs are as follows:

WS DUAL XEON E5420 2.50GHz, 12MB cache, 1333 MHz FSB (Quad-Core)
4GB FBDIMM DDR2 800 REG ECC (4 - 1GB FBDIMMS)
NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700 512MB
Motherboard: Supermicro X7DWA-N

I'm a complete novice at this and want to look to upgrade to 8GB as a min but ideally 16GB.

Please could you advise me on a product to get that would fit my current setup.

Regards
Liam Spencer

Your Motherboard supports total 64 GB RAM ( 8 x 8 GB) Fully Buffered ECC DIMMs.

Since you are having 800 MHz memory, you can go for the same. Better to go with larger capacities, 8 GB Kit or 16 GB Kit...

Your Motherboard supports total 64 GB RAM ( 8 x 8 GB) Fully Buffered ECC DIMMs.

Since you are having 800 MHz memory, you can go for the same. Better to go with larger capacities, 8 GB Kit or 16 GB Kit as memory needs to be populated in pairs.
