What do I need for EVGA GTX 1080?

I had my computer built for me. I know a lot about the actual components, but never had to change anything in my own computer myself. I just preordered the new EVGA GTX 1080 ACX 3.0 from Amazon, but I am not sure what I need to make it work. Changing graphics cards is the easiest thing in the whole system, so I can do it myself. These are my specs:

My questions are: will my motherboard work with GTX 1080 after I remove my 980 Ti? Explain to me, please, the power connector stuff. Do i need to buy 6-pin to 8-pin power adapter or something else? List anything else I may need to set up EVGA GTX 1080 ACX 3.0 and whether you recommend me doing it myself since I have never done anything with a computer's hardware. Thank you very, very much!

1. Yes, your motherboard will work-just take out the old and add in the new.
2. Your Power Supply will have an 8-pin power connector. You are probably already using at least one for your current GPU. It may be a 6 pin connector with 2 extra that can be combined to make 8 pins. Just plug it in.

Software should update itself automatically. Everything should be as simple as removing the old card, plugging in the new, and powering back up.

Thanks! But what do I do with the 6-pin power connector? I can't just let it swing inside of my computer.

I get the card on Monday or on Tuesday. I will put a photo of what I've done to the power connector once I set the card up.
