Is my gtx 970 being bottlenecked by my fx-6300? I run gta v max settings(every setting is max, all the fancy stuff like water textures, tesalation antilating, grass textures ect, its maxed out completely and I use 4x msaa) at 1080p around 40 fps on average. My fps varies a though, if im driving through the city super fast I get around 33 or so fps, if im in a grassy area I get around the same(probably has something to do with me maxing everything out, including the ultra setting for grass textures) and when I fly I usually get in the 50's or 60 but when I fly really low to the ground I get a little less especially with super fast planes like the besra(around 40 or so fps) When im walking around i get fps in the 50's and up to 60. Also every rare once in a while i get a drop into the mid to low 20's for a matter of seconds(like once every hour-2 or so and it ussuly happens in grassy areas probs because my ultra grass textures but a few second drop every few hours isnt a huge deal just mentioning it)Do you think my fx-6300 is a big limiting factor here??? Do you think if i had an i5 i would get way better fps in gta at these settings??? My new 970 is a big improvement over my 960 no doubt about it(i ran it with my 960 at max textures at 1080p and mostly everything else was normal and i didn't use the vram taxing settings), but do you think my 970 is being held back a lot with my current cpu, and do you think getting a better gpu with no cpu upgrade would do much if i decide to do that in the future? Btw if you needed to know i have 8 gigs of ddr3 ram. Also if i do get a cpu upgrade it will be in a while, because im currently broke because i just bought a gtx 970.
