Hello all,

I understand the basics of hardware and try to keep up with the general idea but when it comes to certain things like comparing GPU cards or understanding just how much more processing power an i7 has against an i5 I fall short.

I'm looking to upgrade my rig for better gaming performance. I currently run newer titles (Witcher 3, Overwatch, The Divsion) on Medium settings but have FPS hick-ups from time to time. I'd like to upgrade so I can run everything on High settings at least.

Here's my set-up:

Windows 10
Radeon R9 280 - Need help here!
8GB RAM
SevenTeam 850W V-Force PSU
HD's: 280GB (Windows install) + 700GB (Games) - Thinking of upgrading to this SSD
i5-2500K CPU @ 3.3

Which parts need upgrading right away and which can wait? Budget must be reasonable.. I'm thinking maybe $500 between now and end of year. If I had to guess, I'd say my bottleneck right now is the GPU but I could be wrong.

Also, if I upgrade one of my HD's to the SSD should I install both windows and games on it or only games on the SSD? Thanks!

Thanks for your help in advance.

Thanks for replies. I've never OC'd anything in my life and the one time I read up on it and tried experimenting the computer kept going to black and crashing it made me a bit nervous. Is it safe at 4.0? What's the best way to do it?
