I will be getting an asus z170a with a cryorig h7 and a 6600k. I have never overclocked before and this is my first build so when I saw the asus Auto-Tuning software I thought it was a good choice. Is this a reliable way to OC my 6600k?

Manual is always better as K1114 mentioned. I would say Asus is among the better for auto OCing, though most all of them tend to set over high voltages as the programs are rather generic. One approach is to try it and see what all it changes in the BIOS and that can help you with doing the OCs manually
