Ok the title says it, It was custom built during the end of 2014, and the specs are...

CPU: AMD A8-5600K

GPU: Late 2015 EVGA GTX 950

Ram: 8GB PNY DDR3 1300hz

Motherboard: something by ASUS (can't remember the exact model)

PSU: 2016 EVGA 600w

I need about $1300, so what can I do to get there as well,

i dont know what dollar your speaking in (im from AU so ill use that) most parts there are old or reasonably slow, id say somewhere around the $600-$800 mark (using currency converter about $400-$600 US)
