Can't install windows - CD/DVD drivers missing (tried everything)

I've had to create an account for this, even after trying everything I could find on here. This is my first post so I apologise for any mistakes.
I've just build my first PC using an MSI H110M mobo and an i5 6600k processor.
Everything went well during installation and it posts and reaches the bios. HOWEVER, when installing windows, the error message "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing" appears. I then found all the neccessary drivers on my laptop, put them on a USB and put that in every port of my PC, to which none were detected by Windows Installation.
I've tried installing with a USB formatted to NTFS, and FAT32 and no luck. Also tried installing from a USB optical drive, also no luck.
Most of the forums online say all you need to do is move the USB to another port at the right time, which doesn't work either. Nor does adjusting the UFEI bios settings.
I've tried everything I can find online, and I can think of. And now I don't know what else I can do.
Can someone please give me some advice?

Thanks a lot for any help in advance.

EDIT: I'm trying to install Windows 7 64bit OEM version (although the version doesn't seem to make a difference according to most forums).

Full system specs:

CPU: Intel i5 6600k
GPU: GTX 960 4GB
MoBo: MSI H110M Pro-VH
HDD: 1TB
SSD: 120GB
RAM: 8GB DDR4
PSU: Corsair VS650 80+

I've tried that but only with a USB optical drive, and no luck.
Question - should the windows installer detect the HDD and SSD? Because all it shows when I click Browse is Computer(no drive letter)\ Boot(X: ). I'm assuming this all this is is the USB boot drive? If it isn't detecting the HDD and SSD (even though there's nothing on them), does this mean it wont detect a Sata optical drive?

How do I load optimised defaults? The only option I can see is just to Restore Defaults.
Anyway, the bios does detect the HDD and SSD, it's just the Windows Installer that doesn't. Hence why it's so annoying

After looking everywhere, I found a full manual for everything on my motherboard, and I think I've found the problem:

See Step 2:Note.

"Installing Windows
®
7/ 8.1/ 10
1. Power on the computer.
2. Insert the Windows
®
7/ 8.1/ 10 disc into your optical drive.
Note:Due to chipset limitation, during the Windows®
7 installation process, USB
optical drives or USB pen drives are not supported.
3. Press the Restartbutton on the computer case."

I'm going to get my hands on an optical drive and post the result here.

Or you can simply slipstream your usb drivers into a window 7 ISO and create you own modified ISO to use.

Is that possible when there is no OS on the PC yet? I've just bought an optical drive so its too late anyway, but it would be interesting to know!
Thanks for your help by the way

GOT IT WORKING!

All it took was a read of the online manual to discover the chipset in the motherboard doesn't support windows installation via USB. Went to the shop, got a Sata optical drive and Hey Presto!
Windows is installing right this minute.

Hopefully this helps others that got in my situation.

I'm having the same issue, except I first tried to install with a windows 7 disk and then tried a usb drive, the problem is, my disk drive wouldn't turn on, so I thought it was dead and tried another one. That also didn't work. I think there's a problem with the sata drivers, because when I put the current drivers on my flashdrive, they weren't there in browse, just like yours there was only BOOT(X: ). I thought that was the bootable flashdrive, and couldn't find the driver files on there, so I put them on a separate drive and that one didn't even show up! Just the same BOOT(X: )

It's been a long time since I posted this question.. I've since built 7 pc's and developed a very good understanding.
My advice - if you can, always install with a disk. The problem you're having sounds like it could be a power supply issue; as long as it has power the disk drive should always turn on. Try a different SATA power connector, or if possible, another PSU.

Thank you, but I actually just figured it out. I sort of knew something else was wrong when the regular fixes for such an old problem weren't working. The reason it wasn't detecting any drives to install on is because there technically weren't any. I found out I accidentally switched the sata power cables of two modular power supplies and killed all the drives... for both systems! That's a 120g SSD, a 250g SSD, two disk drives and two 1Tb hard drives gone! Thank you for the advice though! I'll definitely hang on to my Windows 7 disk and make a Windows 10 disk just in case.
