If it needs an unlock code entered, you can't connect it without unlocking the phone first. Which means fixing the screen. Next time, do backups before the device is damaged, which is the whole point of backups. Trying to get files out after it's damaged is no good.

i solved it but thanks for advice but that was not my phone it was my roommates phone i make backups monthly
Would help others if you post how you solved it, so when people do a search they can see the solution.
