Hello, so I recently completed my first build.

But I've been running into problems with my temps. They idle fine around 26 C (a few degrees F above ambient)...
But after running literally 3 seconds of Prime95 Small FFT torture test... They're all around 80C.

Here are the specs:
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700k 4.0 GHz Quad-Core Processor
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA 1151
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaw V Series 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB (OS)
HDD: Toshiba DT01ACA200 2 TB
Case: Kendomen Deepcool Red
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA P2 750W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive DRW-24B1ST (Black)
Operating System: Windows 10 64-Bit (Disk OEM)

No Graphics Card, running integrated graphics.

Here is a pic of CPUID after around 10 seconds of prime95:

Now I know something has to be wrong, as the manufacturer max temperature is 64 C.
Not to mention that is the kind of temps I would expect to see on a pretty heftily overclocked chip.

P.S. I've re-seated my cooler 3 times now to no effect, so I'm sure that's not the issue.

Solution
tighten properly test again, probably ok, no air will have gotten in.
later versions of prime create abnormally high temps, not to be used.

Checked both of these as suggested and noticed two things:

1) No, unfortunately my heatsink wasn't tightened completely... (was worried about crushing cpu).
Its been about a week since i applied the thermal paste, will i have to do a complete re-seat/reapply to fix this issue?

2) I also was running Prime95 28.9 rather than 26.6.

i dont understand what you mean by "that max temp isnt the one that you can see" i have almost identical temps but my vid is 1.493. im also concerned. Its stock over clock

I'm very concerned about that VID, and the 64C isn't directly measurable hence you don't know when you hit it.
