So i built my pc around October 2015, So all the components are new. I can mostly be on without an issue. Although when i watch Netflix from the browser it freezes. When i startup a game it restarts altogether. I recently upgraded the Ram to a 16gb Ballilstik but went back to the original 8gb G. SKill after the problem occured. I installed some case lights as well which are still in there but other then that nothing has been changed. Under "Event Viewer" I do get 'Critical' Level errors with the 'Source' being KERNEL-POWER. All my temps are normal. I did a Memtest when i had the 16gb in there and it checked out fine, i still switched back to my original 8gb to be safe and it is still happening so it can't be the Ram (I believe).
Please Help!

CPU Intel i5 4790k
Motherboard Gigabyte z97x Gaming 3
GPU Geforce GTX 970
PSU EVGA NEX 650 80+ Gold
Ram G. Skill Ripjaws 1 8gb DDR3 1333

Solution
I would suspect that low quality power supply, would be your issue. Those Nex units were not very good. G2/GS/GQ/P2 are much better units, at that wattage.

I'm far from an expert but I've encountered the sudden restart/shutdown problem on two computers and both times it turned out to be the power supply at fault. Might want to try a differnt PSU and also make sure it's rated to output more than enough wattage for your set up.

I have taken the PC to get looked at by a PC repair place and they found no issue with any of the hardware. Not sure what to do from there
