Ok so this will be a bit of a story.
I ordered a Cyberpower PC back in december because my old one was getting out of date. Anywho, I ordered it with 8gb of RAM installed. A few months back I checked to see if I could run DOOM on my computer. It said I only had 4gb of RAM installed. I wasn't too concerned, so I figured I'd just upgrade it myself as they had forgot one of the RAM sticks.
I purchased an 8GB RAM stick and came home to replace the 4GB ram stick. When I opened up my PC I saw that in fact both 4GB RAM sticks were installed. Upon further inspection I found that half of my RAM wasn't being used (it said it was "hardware reserved"). I thought this was strange so I tried the RAM in different slots (yes slots that were still matching) and it did the same thing.
I found a video on youtube directing me to a file in regedit located in the pathway :HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlDSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management. I had to change the value of Clearpagefileatshutdown, and miraculously it worked! All my RAM was available. However, after doing this I get the blue screen of death about every 10 minutes after my computer has booted up.
I figured I would try to install the 8GB stick and just say screw the two 4 GB sticks, but my computer just says no signal when I try the 8GB stick. So I'm kind of in a bind. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
