Hi.
I have a problem with my laptop. It gave me a BSOD and it says "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart" and kept doing that. I didn't want to do a clean install of the OS because I don't want to lose the information on my Hard Drive. Instead I connected with an adapter to another PC, but when I connected it, the PC slows down and take too long to read the Hard Drive of the laptop. But when I disconnected it from the PC, it reads all like normal. I also connected a flash drive, because I have a program to do a full backup of the Hard Drive, and when I was trying to select a Drive it didn't appear. Maybe the Hard Drive it's also damage. What do you think? What can I do to at least backup the Hard drive?

Hey there, Manuel!

It does look like your laptop's HDD might be failing. :( I'd advise you to attempt to connect it externally to the PC via a SATA-to-USB cable, hopefully, it won't interfere with the boot-up process and allow you to troubleshoot and access your files. In order to troubleshoot, you need to run the HDD's brand-specific manufacturer's diagnostic tool and determine the health and SMART status.

If that doesn't help, you might want to try some third-party data recovery utilities AT YOUR OWN RISK but nobody can predict if they will help, especially if you are dealing with physical hardware corruption on the laptop drive. That's why a professional data recovery company is your best bet, if you wish to retrieve...

Hey, SuperSoph_WD
Thanks for the response, I will buy a new hard drive because the one from my laptop it's failing. I will try to connect it externally to another PC to see if it works or maybe use another third-party data recovery to see if I can recover some of the data!
I'll keep you posted!
