scam or not?

Solution

From what I have seen, yes probably about that.

Not to mention the card labels are from a brand I have never seen (EZVGACARDS) and they say it is a 256Bit memory interface yet the best 960 only has a 128Bit interface.

It looks like it could be legit but I am doubting it is a 100% legit 960. Just too much is fishy about it.

i did order it they claim it got the original chip for gtx960 so i guess i will have to run some tests on it but its probably not a real gtx 960 but still hoping for good performance from it what programs is best to run to check the performance when i get it ? i got gpuz but if bios been hacked maybe i need other programs?

There are already tests out there for this card. It's not a 960 even though GPUZ reports it as one.

Run 3DMark and see what the results are, from other tests, it's under a GTX 950.

Does not matter what they claim about the chip, it does not have the right memory type nor the hardware of a 960. It maybe some type pre-production chips they got a hold of, but the configuration is in no way a 960. It's like taking the engine from a Camry, the seats from a Mustang, suspension from a VW, putting them into the body of a Porsche and saying they are selling a 911.

it was sold as 2gb ddr3 but gpuz says 2 gb ddr5 seems like they dont know for sure what theyre Selling

here is alink to gpu-z specs

Yes it's a real card, the question is if it's a real GTX 960 or not. Run 3DMark, compare that to other GTX 960 cards. Although you may have issues there since you would need to find results based on your CPU also, not just the card. I guess you can just look at the video card results not the combined ones also. Too bad I sold my Core 2 Quad system a while ago or I could have run some tests on that to compare things.

BF4 has a recommended spec for a GTX 660 which is a few generations behind the 960 they said the card is. Can't go by that just because it ran the game well. Need to run benchmarks and compare to other cards.

About the RAM, look on the board and actually see what the RAM model is off the chips. Maybe it is GDDR5.

i will run 3d mark and try it i gotta say so far im more pleased with this card than my msi geforce gtx 750 ti i orderd for Another computer it runs much more quiet

hang 9 do you know what problem can be with computer that cant boot after removing cmos battery i got that problem in one of my opther computers the other day all fans and hdd led goes on but no signal to screen?

A system can run with a bad CMOS battery, never tried to run one without one at all though. Maybe a bad motherboard.

i ran valley benchmark since 3dmark didnt work i scored 1711 on 1360x768 on high settings but i guess the cpu can drag the result down? the results seems similar to scores of cards like gtx 660 and r9 270 when i check other results

There should be a note about just the card score vs CPU and combined score. I know 3DMark has that. Also check the Passmark tests, http://www.passmark.com/products/pt.htm they have just the video card score there separate from the CPU, but overall system speed can affect the tests. That is why they benchmark video cards with fast CPUs, to make sure the CPU is not holding back the card.

If the card scored about the level of the 660 and the R9 270 you have a card that is a between a GTX 750 Ti and the GTX 950. About what you would see for the price you paid. I guess you can call it an overclocked 750 Ti.
