So I have a HP ProBook 430 that I use for school and I've installed Win10 on it. I've also used a Seagate external hard drive as a backup for many files and I've also locked it with BitLocker. Earlier last month my screen was broken so I had to send it in to a IT office. When I got the laptop back, I tried to open my external hard drive with my password, but it says "incorrect password" every time after I've gotten it back from the IT office. So before I'll travel to the IT office again I would like to see if anyone here has a solution or suggestion to solve my problem.

Solution
The display problem may have resulted in a new motherboard, and if the old motherboard had a TPM chip then Bitlocker would have used this to store the decryption key.

You need to speak to the IT office. We can't offer any real help.
