If that is the case, it definitely is using a similar technology as Intel. I guess when AMD tries to increase speed and get newer tech, they switched over to contact pins like Intel. The pins on the CPU are old now, as old as lga 771. AMD came in with bulldozer late, and they ended up imitating the old Intel en again now they are again imitating the Intel contact pin tech. Or that the pins are on the mobo and the CPU has holes in it like ivy bridge or sandy bridge. Anyways the pins will be manufacturers on the mobo. It also decreases the weight of the CPU and reduces the copper needed. The contact pins versus the spiky holes is the contact pins can further increase speed and better IPC, as there are much more contact pins than the AMD 903 pin design.
It's just as AMD sees to improve their tech by following slightly old Intel designs.
