I have a skylake i5 6600k cpu on an asus z170 pro gaming mobo and a r9 390 for the gpu. I've tried dual booting several distros of linux, using live-usb, alongside windows 10 and none of them boot, once I get through the GRUB boot selection menu(and yes, choosing the linux distro in that menu) the boot process shows up, and I see the specific linux distro's boot logo, but after that, the screen goes dark and I get a "No signal received!" message on my monitor, even though everything inside my Computer is working perfectly and showing no signs of error in the components. I always have to long hold the power button, so that it force restarts and then the the same thing happens over and over again and it never boots.

If anybody has a solution to this, I'd be grateful to them.

Thanks

Solution
I am pretty sure you will need recent Linux kernel in order to work with Z170/Skylake.

For beginning - pull out your R9 (use onboard Intel video), and try Ubuntu 16.04 . This might help.
