I have a Intel DG41RQ motherboard and it has the following sound system.

"Intel® High Definition Audio subsystem in the following configuration:

* 6-channel (5.1) audio subsystem using the Realtek* ALC662 audio codec"

What i see is this. I have 3 Jacks in the back panal and a yellow color port in the motherboard to plug the front panel cable. Back panel is OK. I plug in my headphone, speakers and microphone in the traditional way and now using.

But the problem is how to use the front panel audio?

What is the cable I should choose?

What is the type of output that I get?

I have not used this feature at all.
Please help

Go into BIOS and make sure that it is using the correct spec. There should be a setting that allows you to choose your front panel output as either AC97 or HD Audio, assuming it allows both. If there is no choice, first try one and then the other.
