I have read several other posts with this issue but mine is a "little" different. @techguy911 had a good solution but I need clarification. My new board does not have the ability to set SATA in the Bios to IDE. Only options are AHCI or RAID. My new board is an ASUS Z170M-E. If anyone knows how to set this boards SATA to IDE please let me know if I missed something. @techguy911 had a solution of using a command "Fix_7hdc.vbs /enable /search" but I am not sure if it's just a command or if you still need to create a rescue disk. I do not have a Windows 7 disk. I inherited the hard drive with the OS.

Solution
You have to reinstall Windows when you replace the mobo. The Windows OS Key is based on the mobo. So you will have to contact Microsoft and or get a new key.
