I had RAID 5 configured in Dell PowerEdge R710 Server with three 1 TB HDD . I got issue with 2 HDD simultaneously.
for recovery when I sent the all 3 HDD to Data recovery center then I got following update from them which im not able to digest, I need to understand if below statement is correct anyhow. ?

Data recovery center reply :
" Problem : Logical. But out of 3 HDDs, 1 HDD did not store any data. It seems that data distribution under RAID 5 configuration was happening virtually. Remaining 2 HDDs contain parts of distributed data / parity. But the 3rd part of distributed data / parity is missing as the 3rd HDD is blank. "

Solution
They are saying the third drive has no data on it. It is blank. That is it contains all zero's. So it is useless for recovery. Some kind of virtual RAID5 does not make sense to me in this context.

It is possible the RAID5 was running with only 2 drives in degraded mode. You could try a tool like ReclaiMe to see if it detects a RAID5.
