SSD 120GB vs 240GB

Hello there, so I've got 2 HDD's one 500GB WD Blue, and one 2TB WD Blue
But I'm looking to buy an SSD for my system so I could transfer Windows files on there, and maybe Render Videos on it and using it for gaming of course
but I'm struggling if I should buy a 120GB one or maybe should I go with 240GB
And Last, which brand would you guys go with
Intel, Samsung HyperX or Sandisk?

A SSD is a bunch of flash dies accessed in parallel. A single flash die by itself is as slow as a SD card. But put 8 or 16 of them in parallel, and you get SSD speeds.

For cost reasons, the 120GB SSDs are usually the same design as the 240GB SSDs, except with half the number of flash dies. This means they perform significantly slower than the 240GB versions.

The same does not happen at sizes larger than 250GB. 250GB SSDs pretty much cap SATA 3, so there has been no need to make 500GB and 1TB SSDs faster (until recently with PCIe SSDs becoming more common). So if at all possible, stick with the 250GB and larger SSDs.

No. No sense in putting a SATA ssd in an m.2 slot unless sata is the only sdds it supports. Beter to get it in 2.5" format and whae NVMe SDD prices coem down to mainstream level you have that m.2 slot to put one in.
