What is your PSU?

I think the above two people are referring to the motherboard connection, so there is miscommunication. There are two cables: SATA and SATA power cables. A SATA cable, shown below, goes from the HDD to any port on the motherboard:

@AUnlikelyPotatoe is right, you might as well plug it in the first available port. You can also refer to this tutorial on Howe to physically install and set up your hard drive in the system. Hopefully, everything will run smoothly.

Don't forget to backup your files whenever you tamper with the hardware in your rig! This is the surest way to avoid any potential data loss!

In general, it's very intuitive, there are labels on the modular connector board. The SATA power end of the cable should look like below, whereas the PSU-in end is usually 4 pins.
