Is it still a good idea to buy second hand GTX 980 ? (280-300 usd)

Hello everyone.
As you know GTX 1080 and 1070 models are on the market now and I was thinking about buying GTX 1070 but to be honest I can not afford those cards and i also can not wait for them to get to the lower price categories. About a month ago I bought new PC without graphics card.
Now I have found a good deal for Gigabyte G1 GTX 980 Windforce model. It will be around 280-300 USD depending on Czech currency. and it still has 2 years of warranty. So do you think it is worth the price? MSRP for GTX 1070 380 usd but with extra taxes and stuff it will probably be around at least 450 usd in here(Czech Republic). So even GTX 1070 will be expensive for me.

By the way my usage for the graphics card will be around playing latest games( with 1920*1080 resolution) and streaming on twitch( with 1280*720 resolution).

My system :
-MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Motherboard
-Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2666 (I will add 8gb more after some time)
-Intel 530 SSD 120GB
-750gp 7200rpm hdd
-Intel Core i5 6500 CPU
-Zalman ZM600 LX-600W PSU
-Zalman Z1 Neo Case

Oh I did not mean my monitor has that resolution. It is a full-hd monitor and I really dont envy 4k gaming or sth :) What I meant was the rendering resolution for Twitch. I will still play on Full-HD but the streaming program (OBS) will be set on 1280*720 for rendering and sending the feed to twitch servers.

anything under 300 yes
however i dont think its really the best idea as the r9 390 is nearly as powerful and the r9 480 is coming out at the end of this month and is a bit faster than the 390 making it almost 980 speed and its only ~200$

I thought r9 390 was being compared with gtx 970 almost as equals. and for the r9 390 i think my PSU is not powerful enough. Other than that r9 480 ? you mean RX 480 that the AMD has just announced one or two days ago. That is actually a good option but at the end of the month is kinda late for me :D I am new to this desktop graphics card world and i know more about NVIDIA than AMD to be honest.

a r9 480 is most likely more power efficient than a 390 and a 390 is really in between the 970 and 980 is faster than the 970 and slower than the 980 but it can be overclocked also
what im saying is yes the 480 may be a bit less powerful than the 980 but for 100$ less and being new i think its worth it (plus aftermarkets can be overclocked :))

I am not really interested in overclocking but you got a good point :) Thanks for your opinion.

well to make it simple the 480 is going to be about 2-5fps slower in games than the 980 so unless your gaming at 4k i would get the 480 because you need to think "do i want 5 more fpu for 100$ dollars"

Well I made good bargaining. So im buying the gtx 980 for 250 usd :D I think the difference between gtx980 and rx 480 50 dollars is worth it when you consider nvidia has better driver support and game optimization.
