While it may in fact be recognized, there's no guarantee since it is not on the board's CPU support list: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/P5K/HelpDesk_CPU/
You'd want to have the latest BIOS update for that board to even have a chance.
Btw, I have the P5K Pro version of that board.
