So I decided to actually try my hand at building a PC for the first time and well, the CPU Cooler installation was a bit nerve racking. I screwed up the first time, had to wipe off the paste and redid it, then when screwing the cooler down, I noticed one of the mounting screws wasn't fully in, so I tightened it as best I could (but not too much for fear of damaging the motherboard), etc...
I've been monitoring the temps for a few days now and I'm a bit confused by the temperature differences between cores. Some people say it's normal, some say no, by looking at other 6600k temps, there do seem to be temp differences but I just thought I'd verify.
Average Room Temp is 25.5C (78F)
Anyways:
During Idle I get:
Core #0: ~24C
Core #1: ~26C
Core #2: ~22C
Core #3: ~22C
During Gaming I get:
Core #0: ~39C
Core #1: ~40C
Core #2: ~34C
Core #3: ~36C
With Prime95 Stress I get:
Core #0: ~52C
Core #1: ~51C
Core #2: ~45C
Core #3: ~46C
Are these temperature differences/ranges normal? Particularly the large differences between the first two and last two cores? Can I put my mind at ease that the CPU cooler was likely installed correctly?
