I have my MSI r9 270x overclocked to 1190 mhz and 1400 memory clock.
Under load it reaches between 77-83 degrees celsius. Is this too high a temperature to run all the time when gaming for 4-5 hours a day? Also, the overclock is stable and im seeing no artifacts or signs of instability:)

Solution
If you're really what you nickname says, the rx 480 coming at the end of teh month will be a fantastic deal for $200 and a massive improvement over what you have.

I used to have the same problem and is not amd or nvidia the problem. Anyone demands more fps like they really need them and the resolt is always temperatures too high and if your graphics card has open fans will throw all the heat inside the box and make it worst, don't try furmark it will burn you out. The only effective way Ι found was 2 high static pressure fans by the side of the pc case to cool the card from both sides, nothing else.

Thanks for both replies, and yeah you're right. The rx 480 sounds like a great deal if they amd can deliver:)
