Please someone can tell me if I can use this Asus sound card in my motherboard? I have a GTX 970 graphics card in x16 slot and only remaining slot I see is PCI.
Please help.

I thought you wanted something internal no matter what. An external USB card is by far a better solution. I wouldn't have even asked your original question if external was on teh menu :)
All Xonars are good, so i don;t see why the U7 would be different. Go for it!
You have a PCIE 1x slot that is covered by your GPU. You can get an extension for that slot that would fit under teh card, or you could find a PCI sound card.
I would go with the latter. Like the Xonar DG. https://www.asus.com/us/Sound-Cards/Xonar_DG/

Or a portable usb soundcard? I read that Xonar U7 has great performance. A little bit lesser than DX's but does surround sound almost similarly good. Surround sound is what I wanted. What do you think? Or any suggestions?

(Thanks for your response.)

I considered Xonar U7 a 'little' inferior to dx in terms of sound quality, surround and popularity.
But this is a better option now that you have said it.

Yay! Cool. Thanks again!
