Hello :)

First of all, Specs: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Ls9H9W

Or just simply:

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212X 82.9 CFM CPU Cooler (Purchased)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (Purchased)

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Case: NZXT Noctis 450 ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply: Corsair RMx 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WN725N USB 2.0 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter

Other: Anti Static Wrist Wrap

As you can see it's my first build and i only bought the ram and the cpu cooler

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There were some bad reviews on Newegg about the GA-Z170X-UD3 most of them were about DIMM issues and it being too short for an ATX case, so i searched asus mobos and i found some bad review also on the ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING it was about the latest bios update that bricked the motherboard (the update is very recent (late may)) there was a lot of people that have this problem and i don't know which to take so... help me before i make a regrettable purchase :(

So tell me which to take and why?

Also if you have any of these motherboards tell me why you bought it

Asus motherboard link (newegg)

Gigabyte motherboard (newegg)

Thanks :)

I ran with your observation that the two boards in question have very high dissatisfaction rates among board owners. The Gaming 7 does not:

Giga Gaming 7
5 eggs - 58% (135)
4 eggs - 14% (32)
3 eggs - 9% (21)
2 eggs - 6% (14)
1 egg - 13% (31)

That's 19% of Gaming 7 board owners rating the board "less than average" ... the Asus board has almost twice the %. The Gaming 7 also has more than twice the reviews indicating that far more people are choosing it.

Asus Pro
5 eggs - 42% (43)
4 eggs - 17% (17)
3 eggs - 7% (7)
2 eggs - 10% (10)
1egg - 25% (26)

You can compare them feature wise here just copy the jibberish below into the url window on newegg.com as THG forum software truncates long links)...
Neither have been well received by board owners.... bit as you are at the $150 price range, I'd urge you to consider the Gigabyte Gaming 7 which is $164 (after $20 MIR) ... which is a great Motherboard

Up thru 2012 we were almost strictly an Asus shop ... deteriorating quality, customer service, performance, user satisfaction led us to use Gigabyte and MSI boards. Asus picked it up a bit w/ Z170 in most areas but board owner dissatisfaction remains high among board owners for most lines.

In this price range, the Gaming 7 stands out... if you go higher in price, the MSI Xower Titanium are the boards we most often recommend.

Gigabyte supports faster memory
Gigabyte has twice as many SATA ports
Gigabyte has an extra M.2 slot
Gigabyte has 2nd LAN port
Both have 2 USB 3.1 ports
Asus has 4 x USB 3.0/2.0 ports / Giga has 5 x USB 3.0

Thank you, You're awesome!!! i'm gonna go with the gb mobo

36% of Board owners rate the board with 'below average" (18% 1 egg / 18% 2 egg).

Way overpriced at $50 premium over the Gaming 7 and 40% more expensive than the boards originally under consideration and despite the RoG cost premium, feature wise doesn't stack up tot he Gaming 7.

Gigabyte supports faster memory
Gigabyte has extra SATA express port
Gigabyte has an extra M.2 slot
Gigabyte has 2nd LAN port
Both have 2 USB 3.1 ports
Giga has 3 more USB 3.0 ports
