Hi, I wanted to ask people if I should OC my pc a little.. This is my build:
CPU: i7-6700K
GPU: GeFroce gtx 960 windforce 4gb
MB: Z170X-GAMING 3
Power Supply: S12II-620Bronze
Case: Thermaltake Suppressor F51 Without window. (Has 2 strong fans)
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit activated
CPU fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

So I did look up overclocking in here (on sticky post) and I know it should be pretty safe, but just some questions to it... I have installed OC_GURU II from my graphics card disk and it looks a little buggy at some points or not trusty.. Is there any other thing that I could use that supports my graphics card and is easy to control ? And by the way I had quite some problems with this OC_GURU II like it doesn't start up when windows starts up (the meaning of that, that the fans don't spin and it starts heating up bit by bit (50C so far it reached)) GPU clock is not reacting to my commands only memory clock and fans.. And yea I know it auto boosts usually from 1240 MHz to 1440 MHz but not more... (I have asked these questions on GeForce website forums but they did not help me just called me a troll) Now CPU How can I boost that ? And does anyone know why its showing in system properties 4.01 GHz and 4.00 GHz? And do I need a better fan for overclocking my CPU or it should fit ?

If I had to be honest, by far the best way to over clock the cpu of the system if it your intention to do so.
Is to do it through the bios options of the motherboard you have Rokas.

You get far better control to do with the frequency and the settings you need to change to over clock the cpu in question you are using.

And the voltages that may have to be changed of the cpu it`s self in order to keep the over clocking of the cpu in higher frequency settings stable when it is tested with cpu load put on it.

The same is also true for your system memory fitted to the motherboard you have, it should also be done via the bios of the motherboard you have.

How much you can over clock a cpu, and stable it will be with the increased frequency settings will greatly depend on a few factors.

How good, or how much the motherboard cost to buy, and what motherboard chip set it uses on the motherboard it`s self.

Also the amount of advanced options provided in the bios of the motherboard Rokas.
To do with frequency settings, and voltage adjustments for the cpu core and memory plus the timing values of the memory and the ability to change them also.

For your graphics card It will be as simple as using MSI afterburner or other good over clocking software, ASUS gpu tweakII, or Evga precision over clocking software for windows.

If over clocking the graphics card, you should be looking at setting a custom fan curve for the fans of the graphics card.

Hey, thanks for the answer, yea I just found those programs and up for downloading them.. Though is it really safe to try and boosting it in bios ? I understand that it's maybe the only way but isn't it's risky and is there something I should know before giving a try at that ?
