I've replaced a faulty psu and I started it up. Everything runs but my gpu, it does not need a 8 pin its runs solely on the mobos power. I've had this computer set up for about 1 year and everything has worked fine until I replaced the psu.

Before you do anything in your PC, you have to check if it will actually support the PC!!! cus if it doesn't, your Pc can break dude! D:

Check online, the model of your PSU, and see how much wattage it is.

It sounds like your PSU doesn't support the whole PC, only some parts thus you will have to buy a higher wattage PSU.

P.S: Make sure you are using the correct power supply cable, in case it doesn't match with the PSU.

It was the same PSU I have had. Just a different one. My psu broke about a week ago and I got the same model as the one before.
