So yesterday I upgraded to Win10 from 8.1 and once finished I did a reset to get a fresh start. After that I updated my video drivers because it has been a while.
Note: I didn't have to install all the drivers after the reset, windows remembered them for me (at least thats what I think because the video driver was there once the reset finished).
Anyway, later today I start downloading Battlefield 3 from Origin and the CPU temp went to 80°C and the computer overheated and shut down. Later I tried playing CS:GO and I was almost reaching 80°C again, where usually I would get 50-60°C. It feels like the CPU fan is not working as hard, as in the temps are extremely high yet the fan is really quiet.
I have been using this PC for over 2 years and never had heat problems. Funnily enough my idle temps are extremely low at >20°C which I didn't really get before.
Here are my specs:
FX 8350 (stock cooler)
HD 7970
ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z
Corsair CX750M
8 GB RAM @ 1600
ps: I changed the power options on windows to "high performance" from "balanced" which was default, but on Win8.1 I always had it at "high performance".
Thanks
