Confused about PSU connectors

Greetings!
I have a Power LC600H-12 Power supply (650W) and recently bought a ASUS GTX970 Turbo GPU. The card needs (quote from package) "-minimum 500w power supply (with a minimum 12V current rating 38A).

Now the reason why I'm confused is because on the side of the PSU it reads:
Current
A5
+12V1 +12V2
18A 18A
480W

Now does that mean I am 20W short on Wattage, or is the 500W refering to the complete PSU's output? And what about the amperage 18A+18A=36A, not 38A?

There are 2 power connectors from the PSU to the GPU. One 6pin and one which I presume is a 8 pin (6+2pin) cause there was a extra 2pin connector"just hanging loose".

So does the 18A and 18A amperage refer to the 6+6 pins? And is the output trough the 6+2 36A?

I haven't done any demanding work on the PC yet (otherwise computer runs fine) wanted to check with people who know first.

An sorry for possibly terrible English.

Here is a nameplate from a Power LC600H-12 Power supply:

It appears to be like yours except for the different +12V rails (???)
If so, I'm afraid you didn't buy a 600/650W PSU. It would be what we refer to as a fake. The specs put it more in the 300W/400W category. Depending on the rest of your system and the demand of the games you play, the PSU may handle the GTX 970... for awhile at least. But it is actually too weak to be recommended for that gfx card.
