At this time I have an i-5 4670, a GTX 660 graphic card with a 650 watt psu. I would like to upgrade my monitor to a 27/28 inch 144Hz model. I have a HP 2511 monitor now. The 60 Hz is alright most of the time when I play WOW but in 25 man raids the picture quality suffers on the highest settings. I would appreciate some input before I lay my hard earned $$$ down.

There's not much you can do, wow is just old and not optimized well. Even with a 980 it drops making a 144hz monitor useless. Other games, look at the 1070 that comes out next week if you are fast enough to grab one before it's sold out. It doesn't make much sense to get a 960 since it's too close to the 660 performance and 970 will be the similar price as the 1070. Or even the rx480 comes out later in the month at $200 but performance isn't known yet.
