Recently (since about a month ago), I have experienced frequent display driver crashes. They only happen when playing games, and only in certain games (namely, Skyrim and XCOM Enemy Within). The game will freeze, though the audio will still be playing, and, upon tabbing away, a popup saying the display driver crashed and was restarted will appear. The game will not recover. Typically, this happens around 15-20 minutes in, though I have had it been closer to 2 minutes or even as much as an hour after beginning to play.
Down to the stuff which may be useful:
System Info:
CPU - i7-3700
GPU - r9 270x
mobo - asrock z75 pro3
PSU - antec HCG-620M
RAM - Corsair Vengence Pro 16 GB @ 2000 MHz
OS - Windows 10 64 bit
Things I have tried:
-Underclocking the graphics card, first by 25 MHz, then by 100
-Underclocking the RAM
-Checking for BIOS updates
-Updating graphics drivers
Basically, I want to know if there is a fix or if I need an upgrade, and if so, is the graphics card all I need to get.
