Hi
I am new to the website and was hoping that you guys can help with my problem. I previously built a computer with no issues, but my present one does not turn on. The motherboard has a green light, but turning it on via case power button doesn't work. I have seen others that have this and their issue is with the psu or the wire being broken.
Proceessor: fx 6300
Mobo: Asus m5a78l-m/usb 3
Psu: Corsair Cx500
Gpu: Gtx 950 sc by Evga
Hdd: Western Digital Caviar Blue 250 gb
Case:Rosewill fbm-01
Ram: Crucial 8 gb one stick

Thanks in advance.

Solution
First make sure that all cables that need to be connected are connected properly.

If still having problems, remove the power button connector from the motherboard and note the pins that this connector was connected to. Then short out those pins on the motherboard using the blade of a small screwdriver or similar metal object.

If the computer boots/runs, then the power switch and/or its wires may be faulty.

If the computer still doesn't boot/run, then the PSU and/or the motherboard may be faulty. Try the PSU in another computer, and/or try another known working PSU.
