I have an i5 4690k with an ASUs Z97-c motherboard. The processor is being cooled by a Corsair H75 water cooler and I was wondering what is the best overclock that I can get? I'm brand new to overclocking so I really have no idea what would be considered good for my rig.

Without overclocking my stress tests come out to like 62c or more. From what I've been reading that sounds pretty bad. Any advice would be appreciated.

All you can do is try and go slowly, the C isn't the best for OCing, just take it maybe 1 up at a time with the multiplier and only add voltage as needed, monitor temps at all times

all 4690k cpus overclock a little different. basically all you have to do is change the multiplier and the cpu voltage in the bios then run something like prime 95 to stress test and monitor the temps while it runs for awhile (10min to a couple of hours). if it holds (no bsod) then try playing games for awhile like you would normally, then restart the process. this is how i do it. check out my blog. i have a post of whats im my system and a screen shot of all my data. i started with 4.0ghz at 1.15v and went up from there. you just need to set a voltage then up the cpu until it becomes unstable during stress testing. once you get to a speed where it crashes then up the voltage by 0.1-0.2 and continue. intel recommends a max voltage of 1.3 for our cpus. if your voltage is too high for a certain speed, ive noticed the heat will go up too much. theres a sort of happy-medium for temps depending on the ratio of voltage/cpu speed. it takes time so be patient. a couple of days to make sure you have a stable overclock.
check out what my setup is. your might be slightly different.http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3137029/4690k-overclocked-5ghz-screenshot.html

think of it like cpu voltage= gasoline and cpu speed = engine. if you run quarter mile times ( stress tests) with a turbo V8 (cpu) with only 20psi fuel (cpu voltage) then your quarter mile times arent going to be good because the engine will bogg down and crap out half way down the track. you want to play with the " V8 turbo's boost" and "fuel pressure" to get the best 1/4 mile times.

comprende'?

oh and do not try overclocking without an upgraded cpu cooler. your just asking for trouble.
