New case, but I'm not getting any power to the motherboard. Psu is not the issue.

I bought a new case and switched everything over but I'm getting no power to the motherboard (msi a88x-g45). Everything is connected properly and I tried 2 different psu's and still nothing, no lights or anything.

Before I decide the motherboard is toasted, (not sure how as I was quite careful) perhaps some of you knowledgeable folk could suggest something else that could be causing this. The only thing I added was a liquid CPU cooler.

Solution
Motherboard (underside) may be shorting out on unused standoff(s) or via some other metallic object(s)?

The CPU may be misaligned due to the installation of the new CPU cooler. Check that the cooler and CPU are mounted evenly. If the cooler is not mounted evenly, this might cause the CPU to tilt a bit and lose contact with some pins/pads This in turn can lead to further issues.

Thanks it was an unused standoff underneath. I loosened each screw till I got power then removed the ones that were unnecessary. So glad everything works, was not looking forward to buying a new motherboard.
