My specs :
psu : cooler master elite v2 500w
Mobo : gigabyte fm2+ ga-f2a88x-d3h
Cpu : Apu A10-5700 locked :(
VGA : sapphire r9 285 2g
ram : 2x4g ripjaws 2133
ssd : kingston v300 240g

I know that my cpu is bottleneck my vga ...I'll replace it with Athlon x4 880k soon ... so
1st) for now I want to overclock from bios to understand the basics like multiplier, base clock and specially voltage because I don't understand how to set voltage....I overclock CPU with overdrive but no changes...and got better score with 3.4 more than turbo 4ghz ...lol
2md) If I'll get x4 880k ... after over clocking to 4.2 or 4.5 do you think those little differences will not bottleneck my vga ?

Solution
You can't learn to overclock with your current CPU simply because the whole technique used to overclock a locked vs unlocked CPU is completely & utterly different.

Overclocking using the fsb , dropping ram speed to compensate & setting dividers where possible is massively more complicated than the 880k which has an unlocked multiplier.

BTW a stock 880k will not bottleneck your r9 285 anyway.
First get a decent aftermarket CPU cooler.
In BIOS turn off all power saving modes and turbo mode. Raise multiplier a notch and test, raise another notch and test. Go until it gets unstable, turn a notch down and you're set for some OC, you can tune it up later on. Make sure your case cooling is up to par too.

Actually you're right..I need cooler instead of stock cooler but I don't want to waste money on cooler because I'm planning to upgrade to x4 880k and it comes with wraith cooler even with overclocking sounds good..what about voltage that's my real problem ( so I will increase multiplier that's all ??? ) I think there are some other stuff, right ?
And what about x4 880k part !! will bottleneck or no ?
Thanks for repling

You can try a step by step multiplier OC, can't really know exactly how far you'll get with stock cooler. Just test at every step, http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4645-amd-overdrive.html is very good program and can do tests too. As long as you don't have to raise voltage you should be OK, maybe couple hundred MHz, maybe more.
Athlon x4 880k specially if OCed a bit should be a good match for that GPU, but that also depends of games. Some need a lot of CPU, some GPU.

The first step to manual overclocking is educating yourself thoroughly on the topic.

Researching and discovering the specifications of exactly what you want to overclock so you are aware of it's limitations so you do not straight way apply too much voltage to it and fry it up.

The after market cooler suggestion is a must to control the overclocked load temperature, but temperature is not the instant killer, too much applied voltage is.

That's why it is imperative to know the limitations of what you are overclocking.

Then Google some overclocking guides that directly relate to the CPU or GPU you are wanting to overclock and study them to get a foundation of knowledge under your belt.

Learn first, and then Do!

So you don't regret it later.
