hi, i have gigabyte g41m combo motherboard which supports both ddr3 and ddr2 ram i want to ask that will my processor core 2 duo e7400 will support 4gb or 8gb ddr3 ram or not

The G41M Combo supports the E7400 CPU. But it is the chipset (with memory controller) which determines the compatibility with memory. This chipset (G41) supports EITHER DDR2 OR DDR3 memory.

DDR3 memory is supported up to 8 GB.

1) 2 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 8 GB of system memory
2) Dual channel memory architecture

Yes, or you may have a jumper to switch to 1333FSB mode.
