Here is my Spec :
CPU : Fx 6300 4.4 Ghz (Overclocked)
GPU : MSI GTX 960 4GB Gaming Edition
Ram : G-Skill Ripjaws V 2x4GB(8GB) 1600 Mhz
Case: ThermalTek Versa N-21
PSU : ThermalTek 550w Black Editon
Mobo: Asrock 960GM-VGS3 FX

i want to upgrade to the new RADEON RX 480 what do you guys think?

Solution
Well the RX 480 should be a significant step up from your 960. If the performance claims at the product launch turn out to be true, then the card should be by far and away the best mid range GPU option until Nvidia drops their prices or responds with their own mid range cards.

Obviously you need to wait for proper reviews. The 960 you have right now is a best selling mid range card, so you can bet that reviews of the RX 480 will compare it to the card you have and you'll get a good picture of how much you'll gain from an upgrade.

you are basically maxed out gpu wise on your setup

overclock the gpu a bit if you havent

start saving for a new build if you want to go higher

do you use afterburner?

if you dont, install it

https://gaming.msi.com/features/afterburner

can you post gpu usage, play a game for a while then take a pic of the afterburner graph

The Rx 480 should be like 2x roughly in performance gains. Definitely worth it if leaks are true. But if youre already happy with your card wait another Gen but if you want a cheap upgrade than go for a 480.

Hi, i have this same motherboard and CPU, i was thinking to upgrade to one of the RX 480 custom versions too.

It's teorically compatible but what i noticed is that these card are probably going to to block various important connectors and headers on the motherboard and some are critical, like the power button header.

Take a look at this: http://i.imgur.com/9hMC7t5.jpg
