hi guys , i have this annoying problem:
whenever i download something - anything from anywhere, my internet works fine and downloads it at it's fastest speed, but after a random amount of time ranging in from 10 seconds to 15 minutes my connection disconnects completely and demands un-plugging and then re-plugging the wifi adapter in order for it to work again.
i have yet to find a way to maintain connection throughout the entirety of the download time. this doesn't happen when browsing normally.
this would never happen when i used a wired connection (i'm on a desktop PC) but unfortunately my router's on a completely different floor.

it really makes things hard when downloading big files because it makes you have to be on the computer for the entire time.

BTW, i'm using a edimax AC600 dual band wifi adapter, that connects to a 3.0 usb port.

thanks

check the vendor web page and look at what chipset is used in the dongle makle sure you have the newest drivers for the dongle. in the dongle software and under wifi device settings. try changing channel spacing from 20-40 to 20. turn off sleep. set the sensitivity to high. in windows turn off sleep mode on usb hub. make sure you have the newest intel or amd chipset drivers.
