Built a PC last night & keyboard/monitor won't work

So I built a PC last night and everything works as it should inside. However, upon starting the PC the monitor doesn't get a signal & the keyboard doesn't work. I bought a Cooler Master keyboard/mouse combo which had blue LED's. I've plugged the mouse into the USB ports and it lights up but when I try the same for the keyboard it lights up for a brief second then nothing happens.

Since I can't get the keyboard to work I can't access the BIOS and therefore can't get an OS on the PC, which is a bit of a problem. I hope once the keyboard works the monitor will get a signal, if this isn't the case then I may need help with the monitor as well.

If this helps this is the list of parts:

CPU: Intel i3-6100
Motherboard: ASUS b150m-c
GPU: Geforce GTX 750ti
monitor: ASUS VS247HR
Keyboard/mouse: Cooler master devastator

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Solution
Test it with minimal components (no mouse, keyboard, SSD, HDD, video card, etc.) and a monitor connected to the motherboard. If it still won't POST, then test it outside of the case to ensure nothing is shorting to the case.
How did you determine that everything works? Did you test it outside of the case with minimal components and did it work? It's useless to assemble everything if it doesn't POST outside of the case with only the CPU, one memory module and a monitor connected to the motherboard (nothing else should be connected other than the power switch if you don't want to short the pins to power up).

I didn't start it up until all parts were assembled.

I'm only judging it's running by the fact all the moving parts inside (fans) are working. Since I can't see anything on the monitor I'm not sure if the parts are working.

Any ideas?
