Hi

i have

asus p5kc mother board
hiper m 530w psu
windows 10
and i had a radeon 5670 graphic card.

All ran ok with the radeon but i have been running world of tanks on minimum and getting a little fed up with the basicness of it.

I have bought and installed an nvidia gtx 460 2gb graphic card second hand in a bid to spice things up a bit.

This is great, what a difference in WOT graphics, really nice and perfectly adequate for my needs for now. Yes, its a pathetic system but i am not ready for the whole new £800 gaming machine yet...blah blah blah...

Now, The problem is that now the screen is freezing during game play and the game shuts down.
sometimes the pc is turning itself off and rebooting.

In your view, is this not enough power supply or the graphic card breaking down?

i am going to run it tonight on minimum and maybe put the radeon back in.

Cheers

It's not the amount of power that is the problem here, it's the quality of that power.
Power supplies have to convert AC power into multiple DC voltages. The most used is the 12 volt. A power supply that is of low quality will be able to produce just barely 12 volts, if not a little under. A good quality unit will be able to produce 12.3 or so volts. Amperage on the 12v rail(s) is also a factor.
Additionally, the power supply must maintain a steady voltage for it to be usable. If it produces 12.2 volts at idle, but occasionally dips to 11.7 under load, you have a problem.
