i bought 40m cat6 cable and connected one side to pc and other to router port but its not working ....pc is not able to detect it ?? what should i do??

First be sure that you can get any cable you have to connect between the PC and the same port on the router. This will show that it is not your pc or the router.

It is fairly rare to get a bad cable but it can happen even on better brands of cable. I would see if the company you bought it from will exchange it.

If you mean the color of the wires for the ends there are very clear examples you can find and even youtube videos.

If you are attempting to build you own cables it is extremely common to not get them terminated correctly the first few times even if you have the colors correct. This takes quite a bit of practice to get the ends on cables.

You want to use t-568a or t568b. 568b is more common but either is very standard.

If you are using 1GBase-T, then pair order should have no importance as long as there are no wires crossed between pairs - 1GBase-T's PHY layer takes care of re-ordering pairs when necessary.

As has been previously mentioned, you should stick to the 568B color scheme and yes, at both ends.
