I bought my S4 through AT&T. When it was paid off I switched to T-Mobile. The phone still boots up with the ATT screen. There are ATT apps still on it that work. I am assuming that any download/upgrades would be for the AT&T S4 and not for T-Mobile? 5.0.1 is available for AT&T but not for T-Mobile. I have 4.4.4 and want everything to be current. The phone says I am current at 4.4.4 thus my question.
Thanks,
Randy

Check with T-Mobile support, there may be a configuration that they can get you that will unlock updates, but that is a low % chance. I don't think that you can update an AT&T phone on T-Mobile network.

i would imagine there is a t-mobile specific firmware you can get that will give you the t-mobile bloatware to replace the at&t bloatware.

you should be able to download a stock firmware that will eliminate it all and leave you a generic look. take a look at androidforums.com for specifics on your phone. i got stock and custom firmware from there myself for a couple of phones i have. here is specific area for the S4 http://androidforums.com/forums/samsung-galaxy-s4.2195/

it is until you flash it with a new rom removing the old service stuff and even adding the new services stuff if you wish. or using a generic rom that removes all bloatware no matter where it comes from.

not that hard really but maybe a touch harder than simply complaining about it ;)
